Kiwi cycling team, Black Spoke, has finally met a disappointing end. The team has been having issues with monetary funding for a long time. They had been searching for an investor to propel the riders into continuing to pursue their dreams.?

Unfortunately, that investor never appeared. This meant that the entire team would have to break and cyclists would be sitting idle until they found another team to play for. However, for the past four years, the situation has been very bright for the team.?

Black Spoke?s cycling triumph?

The team was formed four years ago with a vision. They wanted to provide a platform for the budding cycling enthusiasts of New Zealand to prosper and flaunt their talents. And they did win a significant amount of tournaments to establish themselves as one of the best. Their accomplishments included a stage win by Aaron Gate at Luxembourg. The team also managed to qualify for the all-important World Tour this year.?

However, just when things started to look rosy for the Black Spoke, tragedy struck. The majority of funding for the team was borne by Murray Bolton. Unfortunately, the investor decided to cut on the financing from September. This created a huge problem for all the 20 riders and 10 staff of the team. According to GM Scott Guyton, the team needed close to $1.5 million to keep going. Failing to do so, they had no choice other than absconding the team.?

Even though Black Spoke does not exist anymore, there might be new possibilities for cyclists.?

All is not lost for Black Spoke?s cyclists

The news came as a shock to everyone on the team. This means that most of them will not have a team to compete for. Although such a thought might seem concerning initially, there are always silver linings. For example, Aaron Gate has already been selected by another team.?

Similarly, for the others, there are a lot of chances. Although the path might be hard, the ones with talent and a passion for the game are bound to be noticed by a good team. With all that said, the sudden halt of Black Spoke dreams will surely remain a mournful chapter in the history of New Zealand?s cycling.?
