Small steps take you to big dreams and the two men from Northeast Ohio have yet again proven it. 31-year-old Nick Bruce and 20-year-old Marcus Christopher are on their way to pursue their dreams of donning the stars and stripes at the 2024 Summer Olympics being held in Paris.
Both cyclists are a part of the Olympic Qualifier Series and are vying for coveted spots in USA Cycling’s BMX freestyle. Representing their home country, the duo is gearing up for rigorous competitions they are about to face in Budapest and Shanghai to secure their ticket to France.

Nick Bruce is a known figure in the world of BMX Freestyle since during the Olympic Games in Tokyo, 2020 he finished in ninth place. He is the name associated with landing the first flair tailwhip to tailwhip and the cyclist who grabbed gold in Freestyle Park BMX at the 2019 Chegdu World Championship.
On the other hand, BMX pro Christopher has been practicing this form of cycling since the age of 13. Even though, previously the cyclist suffered from multiple facial fractures including a broken jaw, his resilient spirit dominates.
In an interview with Cleveland, Ryan Nyquist, USA Cycling’s BMX Freestyle coach shared in a statement, “With BMX Freestyle’s Olympic debut in Tokyo, it’s been exciting to see the sport take on the Olympic stage. The Olympic Qualifier Series will bring a next-level atmosphere and platform for our athletes to show the world their skills beyond Paris.”
She emphasized how Bruce and Christopher will be competing with the best to survive till the culmination of the prestigious event.

Ohio BMX duo’s Olympics quest
High-stake competitions reign supreme in the Olympic Qualifier Series that will be testing the physical and mental resilience of the cyclists. The competition will be witnessing the participation of the top 36 athletes from all parts of the world. Nick Bruce and Marcus Christopher will be competing in a game out of which only 12 men and 12 women will be finalists.

Justin Dowell of Virginia Beach will join the duo in the men’s division. As the Olympic Qualifier Series unfolds, all eyes will be fixated on them as hopes run high on anticipating their victory in Paris.
