Denise Mueller, along with her team members, broke a World Record in which they propelled a Sprocket Rocket that weighed 750 pounds with a length of 45 feet to an astonishing speed of 61.94 mph. Even though the human-powered vehicle held many similarities with the iconic Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, it adorned a low-to-the-ground design.
Sharing thoughts about her recent accomplishment, the cyclist has appeared recently in a Spotify podcast with JustGoBike and the episode has been titled “Denise Mueller Breaks Another Cycling World Record”. Through this podcast, the cyclist shares glimpses from her life in San Diego, California. Reminiscing her cycling roots in the city complemented by good weather contrasting to the harsh weather in Iowa, where she stays now.
On the Spotify podcast, she said, “So I live in San Diego, California. Oh yeah. Which is where I’ve been my entire life. Whoa. When I raced as a teenager, ironically where I live now, I’m able to look at the hill called Torrey Pines. So if anybody is aware of that area, I can watch the cyclists doing, repeats up Torry Pine. So you just never know how life comes full circle.” According to her, there prevails a thriving cycling culture, and living there provided Mueller with a unique perspective that played a major role in instilling the confidence within her to break the record.

Mueller has pointed out how electric bikes are an adaptive device that allows people suffering various medical ailments like Parkinson’s and heart disease to be a part of the cycling journey. Even though it was new to Denise Mueller since she had never deviated from using traditional bicycles, she became interested in riding the ESIS bike, which specializes in electric bicycles. Hence, Mueller became the proponent of the adaptive vehicle to make the athletic society more inclusive.
