A rising Québécoise on sporting tracks, the 22-year-old etched her first-ever professional victory for EF Education-Cannondale. In an extraordinary feat, the Canadian racer did not just conquer the challenging routes but also soloed her way to the glorifying finish. 

Marking her team’s second triumph within two days, the cycling sensation mentioned facing a demanding schedule as she embraced racing through the event. With four categorized climbs in the final 40 kilometers, the game set the stage for intense competition as it witnessed Vallieres defying all odds. Skillfully navigating each bend, her strategic attacks came into action as she reached the coveted summit. 

Cycling professional cultivates first-time tournament win

Navigating through her cycling routes, Vallieres showcased epic prowess as she strategically positioned herself in an elite group. Covering her penultimate climb of the Coll de Sa Creu, the pro athlete was met with a decisive moment. Unfolding during the descent, she recalled being unfazed by the technical twists and turns. 

Surging ahead after the crash of fellow cycling professional Silvia Persico, the young Québécoise skillfully managed each curve. With determination in her eyes, she was spotted gliding down the mountain with precise pedals. While her fearless takes proved pivotal, the game saw Vallieres earning a significant lead over the remaining riders

Recounting candid experiences from this bold cycling endeavor, Vallieres shared words of appreciation for every participating candidate. While elaborating on her saddleback strategies, the pro rider claimed, “It was my turn to be aggressive on the climbs and to try to read the race and see what I could do”, while adding, “I attacked a couple of times at the top of the climbs.”

While her inaugural triumph at the cycling tournament became a personal landmark, Vallieres’ golden pedals also marked a dream for her team. Crafting a perfect start to the current season, this win was also a big deal for the EF Education-Cannondale crew.

General manager Esra Tromp significantly emphasized the importance of using such races in building experience. Sharing insights into the cycling icon’s performance, Tromp hinted at the team’s unparalleled prospects. 

As Vallieres celebrated her podium spot, the manager also reflected on its broader impact, highlighting the squad’s camaraderie and growing confidence. With further details, the professional noted, “Well, now they definitely have some experiences together!”, adding, “That builds confidence and I think there’s a really good vibe.”
