His valiant struggle for years had been a tragic visual for Burniston, who now wanted to recall the extraordinary persona he had. Struggling to believe that his friend was gone that soon, the determined man set up an array of challenges ahead.

After getting diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumor in January 2020, Peel’s daily struggles began elevating to unbearable extents. Yet, he held on to his motivation, exhibiting the courageous spirit in him despite all odds. His devoted mother, Linda Peel, was especially heartbroken at the loss, as she tenderly remembered her son as an amazing and brave person. In her eyes, Andi’s journey was one of unwavering strength, woven in not just tenacity but also positive thinking.

 She had to relinquish her career to be by his side, witnessing his urge to live even in the face of adversity, which added further to her current misery. Subsequently, his friends were also left in grief, with one of them planning a tribunal cycling trip to raise funds for cancer research. And then, within this poignant tale of loss and unwavering resolve, a beacon of remembrance shined brightly.

Burniston, hailing from the same town, decided to join a sporting venture, underscoring his late friend’s legacy as a testament to his unyielding courage. Admirably, the 26-year-old mentioned his influence persisting long after the tragic incident, hoping to join an audacious drive. Aiming to raise over $3800 (£3000), he tried to shoulder a tribunal move like no other. 

Setting forth an extraordinary ride, he vowed to conquer 12 marathons in 12 days, remarking, “It will be tough”, as per the BBC. But that was just the tip of the iceberg, as this tour included cycling, running, rowing, and even skiing. While attempting to lend his financial support for brain tumor research, Burniston’s cycling escapade will also test his physical limits.

Unleashing a feat that will mirror the arduousness of Peel’s battle against the disease, this cycling enthusiast scheduled the event’s initiation on December 1, continuing until December 12. As Burniston’s cycling ordeal comes closer with every passing day, his motivation stands as a true portrayal of friendship, enduring the impacts of a life lived courageously.
