Cyclingweekly shared some of their findings of Typhaine’s experience.
The Frenchwoman said: “I asked myself a lot of questions throughout the year and I realised the obvious: I can’t make a decent living from my sport, even if it’s my passion.
“With my English team Lifeplus Wahoo, I received around €1,000 a month. In the years before, with Arkéa, it was between €400 and €700. I still live with my parents and it’s impossible for me to get my own apartment. At 25 years old, you’ve got to start asking yourself questions, right?”

Following in her footsteps, Laurance’s brother is also on the verge of becoming a professional cyclist. He is currently the U-23 road World Champion and is expected to have a successful career ahead.
End of a Promising Career
Typhaine’s decision to end her career at a young age has left many people surprised. However, it’s important to remember that she is still young and has the potential to make a comeback. All professional athletes should receive adequate compensation to continue their careers. Therefore, the French Cycling Association must investigate this matter. and come up with a solution.
