Jared Lebel, the visionary Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Biked., underscored the community’s fervour for supporting all endeavours intertwined with cycling. “We thrive on nurturing cycling-related pursuits within our community,” Lebel expressed. “The essence lies in the diversity of bikes and cyclists converging here—distinct types of bikes, riders spanning generations, all coalescing to create a truly exhilarating sight.”
The aspiration was clear. To bring together an assembly of 250 bikes, in harmony with the city’s regulations, a challenge that these zealous organizers resoundingly conquered.
Anticipation already swirls around the event’s next iteration. This is along with ambitions reaching new heights. The pursuit of a city permit allows a fleet of 500 bikes. To amass on the bridge serves as a testament to the organizers’ unwavering determination to surpass their own accomplishments.
Embedded within this spectacle was a dual purpose. A testament to the accessibility of cycling and a captivating spotlight trained on Grand Rapids as an alluring cycling haven. As Lebel aptly stated, “Such events seamlessly weave into our endeavour. They do so by showcasing West Michigan and Greater Grand Rapids as a haven for cyclists. With over 300 miles of trails and a burgeoning gravel scene, today’s endeavour serves as a beacon, casting a luminous glow on Grand Rapids as a cycling utopia.”
As the day’s festivities drew close, Garage Bar & Grill swung open its doors to host an exuberant after-party, an oasis of sustenance and revelry.
