Little did she know what was coming when the woman mounted on her cycle on the morning of December 11. As she strolled casually on the Cherry Grove Road at Boughton, a silver-colored Mercedes came running to collide with her. The vehicle was a Sprinter Van, which struck the elderly woman at around 8:15 am.
The driver of the van, who was reported to be 48 years old, was detained by the police. He is accused of dangerous driving, resulting in the demise of the woman near the A51 Tarvin Road. As investigations are in full swing, Steve Griffiths, the head inspector, stated that the police have asked everyone to come up with any possible information about the accident.
Inspector Griffith further stressed that the possibility of people witnessing the accident was high, as the casualty occurred at an hour when a lot of traffic was usually present at the avenue. Thus, there is a high chance that vehicles with dash cams or CCTVs might have picked up the exact visuals of the collision.

The inspector also expressed interest in speaking with an individual who conversed with the driver of the Sprinter Van. Although the man was unavailable by the time police arrived, Inspector Griffith suspects that he might have significant information. As we mourn the untimely passing of the woman, sadly, this was not the only instance of an accident that has claimed innocent lives in recent times.
