Cycling is something that is truly beneficial to one’s health but unlike most other forms of exercise, it doesn’t always guarantee a safety net. Outdoor cycling involves the risk of factors beyond the rider’s control and more often than not, it can be fatal. Case in point- the story of one Nijad Huseynov, who had to be rushed to the hospital after being hit by a car.
According to reports, Huseynov was cycling eastbound in the 1700 block of L Street NW. As a matter of fact, he was in the bicycle lane on Oct. 17, when the accident took place. A silver 2014 Toyota Camry going northbound on Connecticut Avenue found Huseynov, resulting in a crash that would eventually end his life.
