After his shift to the ‘Stake F1’ camp, Bottas exhibited strategies for an unfamiliar terrain, venturing into Buninyong for a prestigious cycling event. Gracing the road racing tracks of Aus Cycling Gran Fondo National Championships, he embarked on a challenging odyssey, showcasing his tenacity beyond motorsports. Remarkably, the F1 icon battled through all odds, culminating in a commendable 21st-position finish at the cycling competition. Marking his crossing of the line at 1 hour, 31 minutes, Bottas’ pedaling skills saw a mere 10 minutes behind the fastest contenders. In a firm take on his grit, this triumph undoubtedly added another layer to the motor racer’s versatile merits.

Expressing his unyielding commitment to cycling, Bottas pledged to embrace each race as a challenge, relentlessly pushing himself with every pedal. While his resolute pursuit involved qualifying for the 2024 Gravel Worlds games, the courageous rider shared his candid stances, mentioning, “I go all in. I don’t mind hurting myself”, as he further added, “I kind of like it. I will try to qualify.”

Defying the age brackets of pro cycling games, Bottas sparked buzz among sporting enthusiasts when he enrolled himself in the 35 to 39-year-old category. After riding over a grueling 58-kilometer, he successfully completed the five-lap race track, boasting a demanding 8.4 percent uphill grade.
