Palmer has made it to the headlines with her remarkable victory in the women’s Kirin event at the Pan American games where she won a bronze medal. Following her win, the challenges faced by local cyclist and their athletes have come to the forefront.

The legal tussle was sparked when Palmer in collaboration with her coach, jointly decided to self-fund their participation during the Pan American Track Championships along with the Olympic Games to be scheduled to happen in 2024 and the PANAM Games 2023. Overcoming their financial burdens, Palmer excelled in delivering an impressive performance.

However, things started to deteriorate when the cyclist refused to participate in the CAC Games 2023 expounding her lack of trust in Carlton Simmonds, the accompanying coach. On the other hand, Farrier expressed his concerns about the coach during a virtual conference. In June, both Palmer and Farrier received letters of disapproval from the federation that announced the 12-month suspension of Farrier.

The legal team of the cyclist exposed the incompetence of the federation in providing financial support to Olympic qualifiers like Palmer. The lawyers contended the suspension of Farrier highlighting the negligence and violations of principles like well-being, safety, and respect for universal ethical standards.
