He started his cycling journey in August 2020, and since then, Anil Kadsur has never taken a break from pedaling. In a cruel twist of fate, only hours into American Heart Month, Anil Kadsur succumbed to a cardiac arrest, leaving fans worldwide grappling with the abrupt end to his extraordinary journey.

On February 2, Thursday, he was feeling some kind of discomfort after his regular cycling odyssey. He was immediately taken to the hospital, but unfortunately, he could not be saved as he encountered a massive cardiac arrest.

The Citizens Movement from East Bengaluru expressed their heartfelt condolences after the sad demise of the cycling star on Twitter. They also highlighted the importance of taking the utmost care of one’s heart condition, and said, “His sudden departure, attributed to a massive cardiac arrest, reminds us of the unpredictability of such events. Anil’s legacy lies in his strength, flexibility, and the inspiration he bestowed upon a generation.”

Kadsur hailed from the Silicon Valley of India, Bengaluru, and was lovingly and rightly called the ‘century cyclist’. It was in August 2020 when he first participated in a 10-day 100-kilometer cycling challenge. Although the challenge came to an end, his passion and love for cycling continued to grow. Riding 100 kilometers became a regular activity for Kadsur.

He pedaled regularly for 42 months, and his daily 100-kilometer ride became a milestone. He completed 1,250 century rides in these 42 months. Just about a week ago, on January 31, Kadsur took to his Instagram handle and shared with his fans about his achievement of riding his bicycle regularly for 42 months. Kadsur also beat the record of a renowned Italian cyclist after he finished off his 643rd 100-kilometer journey.

In 2022, he was featured on the official page of GCN after he completed his 600th-century ride. The Bangalore Randonneurs celebrated his epic achievement in May 2023 as he completed his 1000th-century ride.
