Citrus Heights Community Mourns the Tragic Dea*h of Cyclist After Fatal Collision

A sudden tragedy has shaken the Citrus Heights Community to its core. Recently a terrifying incident led to a fatal outcome after a devastating incident on San Juan Avenue.?

In recent times, news headlines have been screaming about alcohol, drugs, and reckless driving as the prime grounds for concern and reasons behind road accidents. A recent fatal collision occurred in the heart of Citrus Heights. But, contrary to the expectations, neither of these factors played a role in the accident.

Bicyclist’s life cut short in mysterious collision?

On a seemingly ordinary afternoon, a tragic incident unfolded which claimed the life of a bicyclist. It was last Friday when he was passing by San Juan Avenue and was hit by a running vehicle. It happened at the 6200 block of the Avenue at around 12:20 in the afternoon.

The accident happened in the Citrus Heights Area. Immediately the police department was informed. When the officers arrived at the scene the bicyclist was lying on the street lifeless. It was reported by the Citrus Heights Police Department that the individual faced serious injuries from the accident. The bicyclist was attended by the responding medics who declared the individual dead after a few hours.?

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene to cooperate with the Police Department in the investigation. The sudden demise of the cyclist has left the community grappling with sorrow. The investigation is still ongoing. It was also informed by the officers that drugs or reckless speeding have not been the reason behind the death of the individual.

Sylvan Road from Stock Ranch Road to Greenback Lane was closed by the investigating officers from the time of the accident and it was functioning again from 7 in the evening. The identity of the bicyclist is still not known.?

A tragic repeat of the devastating accident?

A few weeks ago, a similar incident unfolded in the streets of Garden City. A 25-year-old cyclist ran a red light which claimed her life. At the intersection of E. Schulman Ave. and US Highway 83, she was hit by a vehicle after she defied the signal.?

She was out for her late-night ride but it took a sudden unexpected and devastating turn on US Highway 83. The signal on Southbound was green and a 36-year-old man was driving the car which hit the cyclist. Morales was declared dead on the spot.?
