Pine Forest High School in Escambia County has found its way to a fraud investigation just ahead of the Grand Opening on Wednesday. The cheerleading staff of Pine Forest have been misappropriating funds, which is confirmed by the Sherrif’s office. Parents are furious over this scenario, and one even came forward to the media to share her anger.
As tensions ran high, members of the cheerleading team along with their parents were puzzled as they were advised to be on their own!

Even after an emergency meeting later, the management left the parents in the dark. Both the cheerleading coaches have resigned for unknown reasons. No follow-up took place regarding the matter, and the school stated no reason for the resignation of the two coaches. They were told instead that the school did not have any money for their care, and that the parents would have to pay for everything.
The cheerleading funds are covered by the School District. Parents ideally should not have to spend cheerleading allowance on the kids separately, but they were told otherwise.
One furious and concerned parent came forward anonymously and stated at WEAR News:
“I wanna bring awareness to people because it is tough out there. How am I supposed to know if you’re not willing to tell me anything? To not give any follow-up whatsoever, I find it strange. They told me they got absolutely no money for their care, so it had to fall on their parents for everything!”
Investigative Journalist Tanner Stewart, reporting for WEAR News, shed light on the staggering cost of at least $1500 for aspiring cheerleaders at Pine Forest. With each cheerleader purchasing 3 sets of uniforms annually, and each priced at $225, the financial strain on parents is apparent.
