The UP Streetdance Club and Southies exhibited their prowess at the World Cup, earning gold medals in the Coed Elite and hip-hop divisions, respectively. The School of Saint Anthony, with its outstanding performance, also clinched a silver medal in the junior hip-hop category. Team PH’s hard work and dedication eventually paid off, as they earned a well-deserved place on the world stage, marking their audacious success. Alongside this team, all cheer groups portrayed many talented individuals combining grace and power, which left an enduring impression on the judges and spectators alike.

With their jaw-dropping act at the Cheer Dance World Cup, the Philippine teams did not just showcase their incredible dance skills. Consequently, the team’s cheer show also raised the nation’s profile in the international cheerleading community. The Southies, in particular, shared words of gratitude through their official Facebook page, saying, “There will be times that you will doubt yourself, but with your faith in Him, everything is possible.” With boundless glee, they added, “Pilipinas, we are your International Cheer Union Senior Coed Elite World Cup Champion”.

Cheer Dance World Cup exhibits indomitable spirits

This remarkable feat has even propelled the Philippines to the third-highest rank in the final medal tally. The Cheer Dance World Cup is a global dance competition that attracts over 120,000 children and young performers from 62 different countries. This exceptional competition depicts the students’ commitment, merit, and passion for cheering. As the spectators glistened with joy, this year’s show marked another stance of glamor and glitz on the stage.

Every season, dancers of all ages, ranging from four to 25, compete in the event, including various styles of dance, including ballet, jazz, commercial, and lyrical. The show usually spans a lengthy period, with the finals being hosted in various countries. This year, the competition served again as a platform for young cheerleading enthusiasts to showcase their skills and passion for dance. Dancers were seen competing individually, in duets, trios, quartets, and even in groups, creating a diverse and exhilarating spectacle.
