Cheerleading is often assumed as a part of entertainment during an ongoing sporting event. However, it is needless to say that the cheering team plays an important part in bridging the gap between sports and its fans. One such instance happened recently when Isabella Ramsey, a member of the Taylor County Middle School cheerleading team, helped an old man get up on his feet!

During a recent game of basketball, Ramsey spotted an elderly man struggling to get up while the National Anthem was being played. Without a hint of hesitation, Ramsey immediately came over to the man and helped him honor his country.

As she sat down for an interview with 12News, Ramsey reflected on her kind act and stated that the urge to help the old man came to her naturally. She said, Well, I mean when you see somebody like that’s struggling it’s a natural thing to want to help them, I guess. He was like trying to stand up for a long time, so I just felt like if he wanted to then he should be able to.”

The cheerleader also stated that not only the old man, but his daughter-in-law was also very pleased with her decision to help him. When asked, Ramsey did not think twice about saying that, given the opportunity, she would repeat such an act of kindness again. However, this was not the only tale of cheerleading glory.
