Often it happens that after crossing middle school, students leave Girl Scouts, however, Masters carried on with her passion that helped her to receive financial blessings from the fund. For every box of cookies the scouts sell, approximately 50 to 70 cents goes into the fund. In the future, as the scouts make their way into college, they can bank upon this amount as a potent financial resource. Masters has been inspired by the program and committed herself to this fundraising cause.

The coach of the CSI Cheerleading team, Reylene Abbott shared his views with the KMVT stating, “I was immediately blown away by not only her natural talent on the matt, but just how hard of a worker she is, and it makes sense that a lot of those skills came from a program such as Girl Scouts, because I can see that every single time she steps into the gym.”

Young girls once they reach college fail to balance their academic and athletic responsibilities and discontinue their involvement in the Girl Scouts program. However, Masters did not follow this conventional path. From the beginning, Masters had set her goal of joining the CSI cheerleading team

Her excitement for the College of Southern Idaho runs parallel to her interest in being a part of the cheerleading team. Masters expressed her views about the fund, “The Cookie Scholarship Fund is not well known for some reason, but it helps girls get opportunities that they wouldn’t necessarily have without Girl Scouts.”

Her work ethic and dedication towards the CSI cheerleading team have roots embedded in her experience of being part of the Girl Scouts. Hence, the Girl Scouts program apart from selling cookies has a positive impact on the community at large supporting young adults to pursue their aspirations without facing any financial hindrances.
