Georgia school district officials announced that their high school cheerleading coach, Audrianna Williams, has resigned. The board of education has accepted her resignation. As per reports, she was working at Monroe Comprehensive High School.

“The Dougherty County Board of Education voted unanimously to accept the resignation of Audrianna Williams in lieu of termination, with the understanding that the district will submit the appropriate reports to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission,” officials said in a statement.

As reported by WSB-TV, there was an investigation going on around allegations of a possible “inappropriate relationship” between a teacher and a student at the school. Williams’ resignation came days after this was brought to light.

DCSS said that a teacher was placed on administrative leave and wasn’t allowed to contact any student or employee of the school. They also stated that they take such accusations very seriously and are conducting a fair investigation. They assured that if any policies or laws were violated, appropriate action would be taken.

When ‘Channel 2 Action News’ asked DCSS if Audrianna Williams was the teacher involved in the investigation, they received no response. Hence, a lot of speculations are going on and it isn’t known if she was being investigated. No information is available about who is being investigated, as their identity was not revealed.

It was their own rendition of Jack Harlow’s ‘What’s Poppin’ and shot in just one week. It went viral and caught the attention of several celebrities, including Harlow.

The school’s cheerleading team was recruited as backup dancers and the teachers rapped about remote learning and the pandemic. It received a lot of love on social media.

Now, with the recent investigation going on, the community is surrounded by uncertainty. With these on-campus troubles, students and guardians have one big doubt: How will Monroe Comprehensive High’s management ensure fairness for a better future?
