‘But I Really Wanted to Be Here’ – High School Musical Heartthrob Zac Efron Embraces Cheerleading Role During ‘Iron Claw’ Promotion Despite Health Concerns

The heartthrob fan from the teenage classic High School Musical, Zac Efron, has yet again come to the limelight by taking up the cheerleading role and appearing on Today Show. On December 20, Wednesday, the superstar participated in the show to promote his latest project and the new movie ‘Iron Claw.’

However, the Hollywood star sported a new look at the show, facing cameras behind dark sunglasses. The passionate spirit of the star has left the fans going gaga as he was cheering for his colleagues while battling an infection!

Efron’s sunglass saga at film promotion

Beyond Hollywood glitz and glamor, Efron’s charismatic presence showcased his cheerleading side beyond the screen. Fans failed to restrict their excitement seeing their favorite star on TV, but they noticed something strange about his attire since the high school sweetheart wore dark sunglasses. In no due time, Efron revealed the cause behind his unusual accessory choice.   

As reported by The News, the actor candidly expressed the reason stating, “I just have a bit of an eye infection. But I really wanted to be here.” Following this interview, Efron acquired much praise and acclamation from fans and beyond, opting for a cheerleading role, expounding his commitment towards the film and his co-stars. 

Efron willingly took part in the film promotion processes cheerleading for his team despite his discomfort and poor health condition. This exposes him as a dedicated and responsible personality and his commitment to acting. 

Cheerleading and leadership champion 

For ‘Iron Claw’, Efron has broken himself as per the needs of the film that focuses on 80s wrestling stars. By spending a lot of time getting in shape, he proved his hard work to be in sync with the cast and not to receive special treatment taking advantage of his big name. Even during the show, he praised the other actors who had shared the screen with him in the movie.

The Baywatch actor said, “These guys are such talented, young actors. When you hear you’re playing a professional wrestler, I think the hairs on the back of your neck go up a little bit. You’re kind of vulnerable up there in the ring.” As a result of his co-stars praising Efron for his leadership roles, they call him a champion and cheerleader for them’. Efron’s mentoring his colleagues has helped the co-actors overcome the vulnerabilities that came their way during film shooting. 

Hence, Zac Efron yet again managed to impress his fans and earn the love and respect of his co-stars through his humble nature. He dwells outside his celebrity status and thereby, even after battling with an eye infection, ensured to cheer and rally for them, being beside them all throughout the filmmaking and film-release process.
