A group of six young girls from Cesar Chavez High of Delano are all set to paint London with the colors of their dreams.

Cheerleaders’ ambitions take flight

Young beauties from the Cesar E. Chavez High School are not only conquering feats in their empire. Rather, the team of six has earned a ticket to represent their hometown, Delano at the glamorous event of the New Year’s Day Parade in London. Their journey is more than just high kicks and pom-poms. It is about the power of ambition.

A group of six young, talented cheerleaders, fresh from winning the ‘All American’ award in the USA Cheer Camp, are all set to grace the streets of London

One of the cheerleaders from the team of six, Mariah Lopez shared her emotions of enthusiasm, “I was so excited I felt like I accomplished something, and I was just so happy like I accomplished it,” Mariah Lopez further added, “This is a small town. Big things don’t happen that very often in our town and you know it gives these kids a chance to get out and see the world a little bit because some of them have never even gotten out of the town let alone the country”

The team has been bringing the USA Cheer Camp for three consecutive days. And that was when they were presented with this opportunity.

Small-town stars are transcending borders

They have been selected to perform at the Varsity Cheer New Year’s Parade in London. The Principal of Cesar Chavez High, Justin Derrick is concerned about the growth of the students and wants them to flourish more.

Derrick said, “A lot of our students don’t have the same opportunities as some of our other kids maybe in downtown or in bigger cities to be exposed to those opportunities so it’s important to broaden their horizons.”

Other girls from the team, Cassandra Padilla and Alyssa Rodriguez have been raising funds to fulfil their dreams in the UK. From the tribulations of fundraising to the joy and thrill of performing on an international stage, the group has truly come a long way. Their tale stands as a testament to courage and determination. The young ladies truly have proved that no dream is too big.
