Cheerleader From Florida Was Involved in a Tragic Incident as She Was Hit by Lightning While With Her Dad

A young, high-spirited 16-year-old cheerleader embarked on a hunting expedition with his father in the landscapes of Florida. Little did she know that nature had planned for a fateful turn of events. 

While the father-daughter duo embarked on the journey in the sun-drenched landscapes of Florida, they had an unexpected encounter with the most unpredictable force of nature. As they ventured outdoors for a planned hunt, a lightning bolt struck a tree right before their naked eyes. Let’s delve into this spine-chilling account of the miraculous survival of a young girl, who defies the brutal force of nature.

A hunt turned dramatic with a bolt of thunder

Baylee Holbrook went out for a hunting expedition with her father last Tuesday. As they ventured through the rugged terrains of Putnam County, a thunderbolt struck a tree and then upon them. Immediately, they both lost consciousness. But after Holbrook’s father regained his senses, to his horror, he found his daughter not breathing.

In that utter terror, the father immediately dialed 911 for help. He remained strong and performed CPR until deputies and responders arrived. Baylee Holbrook was immediately taken to the nearest hospital, the HCA Florida Putnam Hospital. She has been suffering from a critical condition since Tuesday. She was also taken to the Trauma Centre. Her father has been recovering from the shock. 

Palatka Junior Senior High School students have come together on Wednesday morning to pray for their schoolmate’s speediest recovery. The same day, the community also united for a vigil in her honor at the school gym.

Holbrook has been a Varsity cheerleader. In the next match for Holbrook’s team, they will be wearing Holbrook’s favorite green-colored ribbons and bows to honor her.

Florida community rallies for Baylee Holbrook’s recovery

Her friends said, “pillar of the community with a smile that brightens up every room,” describing Holbrook. Kaitlyn Sanders added, “She’s hilarious, she always comes on with a smile on her face she could be battling the worst day, but she comes with a smile on her face.”

Her cousin, praying for her recovery, said, “It’s like a brother-sister relationship…She’s a fighter and I know she will stay in this and I love you Baylee.”

The sheriff’s office warned the area residents of the upcoming weather forecast. He said there has recently been an increase in lightning strikes in the area over the past two days.
