Saturday’s qualifying for the MotoGP made the headlines for all the wrong reasons. The practice session and qualifying race saw multiple crashes leading to an abrupt end of the race for many riders. Officials deemed the track to be unsuitable for a race but still went ahead with it as per schedule. Italian rider, Marco Bezzecchi, the winner of the qualifying in Silverstone under extreme conditions, was raring to go and stake his claim for the British MotoGP.
Just as he was piling on the pressure! 😢

He started the race in pole position but quickly lost his position to Jack Miller. Bezzecchi fell to third place soon after but was able to gradually secure his position back. In the pursuit of reclaiming the no 1 position, he attempted a gutsy overtake while chasing Bagnaia that led to his eventual demise in the race. Touching a top speed of 205mph, he lost the front end while braking, which caused him to fall and crash.
He escaped a fatal crash doing the same mistake a couple of laps back, but could not save himself this time. The Italian rolled over the gravel and crashed to the side. He was completely distraught, and so was the entire team of Mooney VR46.
Internet reacts to the unfortunate end of Marco’s race

Bez pushed it a little too hard. Did Pecco exceed track limits on the last lap? BB33 should be second! Why does MGP hate Brad?😉

Marco Bezzecchi will certainly rue his missed chance, especially after such a successful practice and qualifying session. Spanish motorcycle race Aleix Espargaró was the eventual winner of the British MotoGP and had a 27-point lead over Marco at the end of the weekend.
