Imagine you’re working out at the gym, running on the treadmill and the lights go out, terrifying right? Well, a viral video on Instagram showed a young gymnast go through a dark ordeal during her gymnastics routine.

In the video, she is seen running towards the jumping point with full vigour, only for it to all end shockingly.

Gymnast sees no light as she takes leap

Uploaded on Instagram by the page ‘overtimewbb’, the clip showed a young gymnast participating in a vault competition, ready to give it her all. As she ran at full speed and gathered momentum for her vault, the most unexpected thing happened.

The entire facility’s lights went out, leaving her in the dark right at the point she loaded to jump. The person recording the video, most likely her family, worryingly said “Are you kidding me right now? Nicole, are you okay?”

Cheers of “C’mon Nicole” quickly faded into cries of worry as the lights went off. The young gymnast was left blinded by the darkness right when she got ready to jump.

Pulling out of a jump at the last minute can be risky, but so is not knowing where your target is. And for it to happen in the middle of a competition is even more unfortunate for the young gymnast.

Talking about what they would have done in this situation, theenailcoholic said, “I would have did the pose til the lights came back on 😂”. Perhaps maybe they had better vision in the dark. Another user, however, pointed out that it was absolutely dangerous for the young girl and stated, “Bro, she could have injured herself. 😮That’s not cool. “

A third user spoke about how she was just a few seconds away from her moment of glory. “Nicole, in her mind, was about to be on her Simone Biles but the lights….” Lastly, this user just expressed deep concern for Nicole and said, “So what happened to her for the love of god??????????”

Incidents like these may be sporadic but can prove to be quite costly too. It’s unclear about how the video ended, but we all hope she’s doing well.
