Devastating news emerged from the Olathe, Kansas of the death of a 19-year-old athlete after battling in the hospital for days. MidAmerica Nazarene confirmed the news of the passing on Monday.

They admitted the athlete to the Overland Park Regional Medical Centre last week. The boy got admitted after suffering “heat-related injuries” that left him in massive danger.

According to statements from the parents and college officials, Myzelle Law suffered an injury during practice. The injury came because of a collision with the defensive linesman. The young boy left the field immediately and made his way to the locker room. His teammates found him in a state of seizure on the floor moments later. His body temperature touched a scary 108 degrees.

They rushed him to the hospital, where the entire medical team worked tirelessly to help him recover. Myzelle succumbed to his injuries on July 30, a week after the incident. Family and friends of Myzelle are still coming to terms with his sudden and unfortunate demise. Speaking to the media, his father Paul Law said, “Suddenly they can be gone, and it’s not a great feeling at all.

Myzelle was a graduate of the Blue Valley North High School. He joined the MidAmerica Nazarene University on an athletic scholarship.

The entire community mourns the loss of a star

A person loved by all, Myzelle was working towards his dream of working at ESPN. He also provided back to the community that gave him so much. Perhaps his most important dream, the Gorilla Bear foundation, was his initiative. The initiative aimed to give financial assistance to young athletes for sporting equipment and his parents promised to fulfill it.

“His best friends would tell us he was the one kid out of all his age groups that would be like I love you, man.”

“He was getting the steps together, but he never got to finish it,” said his father while talking about the Gorilla Bear Foundation and his illustrious dream.

The family also mentioned to media personnel that they will donate his organs in order to help somebody in dire need, hoping that people remember him not for his tragic demise but affectionate heart and caring soul.

The entire community expressed great grief over the passing away of the young athlete. Deveral people questioned the conditions in which they practice and the need for better supervision and monitoring of athletes. The MNU athletes will be returning for practice in the coming week and the school has employed counseling and other resources for everyone if needed.
