Farmington High School Cheerleading Team Basks in Joy upon Receiving Spirit of Excellence Award

The Farmington High School (FHS) Cheer Team embarked on an exciting journey in New Mexico. They partnered with SpiritXpress to up their cheerleading game. This, however, ended being something more for them.

This camp, designed to enhance cheerleading prowess and foster teamwork, proved to be a transformative experience for the team. The FHS Cheer Team not only sharpened their skills but also received the prestigious Spirit of Excellence Award.

Comprehensive camp curriculum

The FHS Cheer Team’s success at the Ruidoso commuter camp was the result of their comprehensive curriculum. SpiritXpress offered a wide range of training to the cheerleaders, including giving them the environment and tools they need to thrive.

Primarily, the camp focused on the physical conditioning and warm-up of the cheer team. They engaged in rigorous warm-up exercises, with the main aim that they stay physically prepared for the demanding routines and stunts they need to regularly pull off.  As a result of this emphasis, their overall performance significantly shot up.

The camp also featured specialized classes in stunting techniques, pyramid formations, and jump skills. This allowed the FHS Cheer Team to refine their precision and synchronization of the moves. They also had a band chant and game day essential class, to make sure the cheer team had spirited success on the big stage as well.

The camp’s commitment to individual growth was also extremely evident in the motion placement class and jump class. The main motive behind these classes is to make sure that the team as a whole is able to deliver outstanding success.

Awards and Recognition

The crowning achievement of the FHS Cheer Team’s camp experience was undoubtedly the receipt of the Spirit of Excellence Award. This prestigious accolade recognized not only their dedication but also their outstanding performance during the camp.

The team’s dedication to excellence extended beyond their cheerleading skills. Their commitment to teamwork, support for one another, and unwavering spirit earned them this coveted recognition. In addition to the team award, individual awards and the All-American designation celebrated the talent and hard work of specific team members.

As they return to Farmington High School, the team carries with them not only the Spirit of Excellence Award but also the invaluable lessons learned at the SpiritXpress camp.
