In the event happened in Tokyo, Jennifer became the first woman from the United States to secure first position and bag gold in the track cycling event. Valente is a pure example of strong will and determination as she stood second in 2020 during the scratch race and was third in France in 2018. However, she didn’t lose hope and finally, she bagged gold and brought glory to her nation. It was her 15th medal, and it eventually tied the world record for grabbing medals in track cycling. In her own words, she addressed this proud moment, “It’s really exciting, but just trying to refocus, actually, on the rest of the races.” She now stands tied up with Sarah Hammer, who also has the same number of medals in the event.

Who would be the ultimate winner, Jennifer or Hammer?
Sarah Hammer had an exceptional career and is tied up with Jennifer for the record medals in track cycling. She also represented her nation in the Olympics and bagged four medals. However, she had recently decided to get away from the paddles and spread wisdom among the upcoming athletes for the same. In her own words, she described her emotions, “I’m excited to continue my journey of promoting track cycling and women’s cycling in my new role. My primary focus will be to share and implement my knowledge with incoming athletes and coaches so they don’t have to learn it all on their own.”

Now that Sarah has decided to be away from the competitions. Jennifer can succeed and be the first woman who sets a world record of being the only one who has the most medals in track cycling. It would be interesting to see how long it will take for Jennifer to achieve that.
