Bull riding as a sport entices its fans through the thrill, sheer exhilaration and perhaps danger as well. The experience is indeed worth exploring and local media reported the endeavors of one such fan of the sport.

Chase Heinrich, a bull riding enthusiast recounted his thrilling experience bull riding at the Campbell County Fair and was all smiles after it. It was the first time he rode a bull but had watched videos of it before coming to try his hand at it. His bull was called ‘Fritz’. The riding was part of a racing competition, one of the many attractions at the fair. Chase did not win the race but his experience was rewarding in itself for him.

“It was pretty good,” he said about the ride.

The closest the young toddler came to riding a bull was when he went riding bareback on a horse.

Chase confessed that losing the race did feel sour but he will take back great memories from the trip down and the whole fair. His advice to any pre-teen keen on giving the dangerous sport a shot, is to “be focused”. The Campbell County Fair is the single largest youth event in the entire county involving 4-H, FFA and open-class exhibitors, according to their social media.

The local county media provide live coverage, updates and broadcasts for the entire fair, showcasing the amount of interest and crowd it generates every year!

The state of Texas is famous for its love for Friday night lights but instead of a stadium it’s a rodeo arena. People all over the state travel miles to catch a glimpse of the championship races and hunt for titles in various sports like barrel racing and the people’s favorite, bull riding! The races are not mere sporting events but a bonanza filled with fun elements of entertainment for all.

The Campbell County Fair is one of many such community driven festivals that promote the culture and inspire the youth to partake in such activities. The Fair is scheduled to continue till August 9th, barring the weather plays spoilsport.
