Brittney Griner, the Phoenix Mercury center, had a horrible experience at the Dallas airport during the team’s transit. Teams usually opt for such flights during a back-to-back game situation or otherwise travel on charter flights. It was here that an online YouTuber made an attempt to ask her distasteful questions as he recorded the entire episode.

Security tried their best to move Alex Stein away from her and the rest of the squad. The video circulated online and instantly left users online fuming! The man continued to bombard her with questions as the man desperately tried to keep him away, but he did not relent. Griner did not respond to any of his comments and continued walking as he tried to invade her space.

Griner was released from custody by the Russian authorities through a prisoner swap, where they sent the arms dealer called “The Merchant of Death” back to Russia. The nature of her release, and some of her previous comments regarding the national anthem, made Griner an easy target for political commentators and the YouTuber made his intentions quite clear.

“That can’t happen.” “The safety of everyone comes first. You know basketball is secondary to all that. People have families, kids. To be put in that situation really is disrespectful, to not only BG, but to our team, to the league.

“So hopefully they can take steps to make sure that the security of our players throughout the league is at the forefront.”

Taurasi, the first player to breach the 10000 point mark in WNBA, voiced her opinions loudly and stood behind her teammate. The Phoenix Mercury has made changes to their travel detail post the disturbing incident. The league has granted Brittney the permission to travel through private charters for the remainder of the season after facing a severe backlash from fans and experts nationwide.
