From Matt Hoffman to Daniel Dhers, BMX has been a major adrenaline rush sport in modern times. It’s a sport that requires precision, focus, and skill. Losing any of it could turn fatal. Recently, a horrific accident that involved the 29-year BMX star shook the BMX world.
Cycling star dies after a motorbike stunt went wrong:
BMX Star Pat Casey lost his life in a motorbike stunt. The BMX world was left in shock after the incident happened. Doctors and paramedics were unable to save the 29-year-old from this tragic demise. Although Casey was known for his BMX skills, he attempted a motorbike stunt. Casey lost his control at one point and suffered a major fall after he missed the landing. The whole incident took place in the “Slayground Motocross Park” situated in Ramona, California.

According to the reports, his bike fell on him, and when he the first people arrived at the scene, Casey had already lost his pulse. Casey had several facial injuries which depicted the horrors of the crash. Casey was no stranger to on-field injuries as he recently suffered one in France. Efforts were made to save him for nearly an hour, after which he was finally pronounced dead.
Two weeks before his death, Casey survived a crash in France:
Before the “Slayground Motocross Park”, Casey survived a huge crash at a BMX event that was held back in France. Casey took the incident online and posted about his facial injuries.

In his own words, Casey wrote, “Not the @fiseworld experience I expected for myself… Got taken out by another rider in practice which resulted in me being pulled from the comp. I am happy to be ok. Stoked my family is here to enjoy France with me. Good luck to all my boys out here, I’ll be cheering for you! “
In the video that he shared, he got stitches near his nose. Nobody would have thought that the next event will take him away. After this brutal incident, Casey’s family, friends, and people all around the world who watch BMX were left with heartbreak. It is a tremendous loss for his wife Chase Casey, and their little kids, Reid and Taytom. Reid, the 7-year-old son of Casey, is also an avid biker like his father. It hurts more because things were looking very promising for the late BMX star.

Casey started his carrier very early in the field. He secured third place in the freestyle BMX event, which happened in 2012. Casey was just 16 at the time. He secured his silver medal in 2013, in the BMX air event, and finally bagged gold in X Games Southern California 2021. Unfortunately, all there is left are the memories.

People commented goodbyes on his recent post on Instagram, which was posted on June 3. Casey loved the sport so much that his Instagram is filled with freestyle videos. However, the tragic irony is, he ended up performing freestyle.
