The UFC is no stranger to their fighters having nicknames. Several legendary UFC fighters are identified not by their first names but by their nicknames, either given by presenters or the fighters’ personal preference.

The Notorious, The Last Style Airbender, The Dancing Spider, these are just some of the few nicknames from a very long and creative list of nicknames in the UFC. A presenter revealed one such hilarious and bizarre nickname during an MMA fight in the Fury FC. It was 25-year-old Jeremy Deleon, who came up with quite a unique one.

As he walked into the ring to face his opponent for the night, Martin Pineda, the presenter, said on the microphone, “Your mom’s new boyfriend, Jeremy Deleon.” The crowd went into a total frenzy, as the presenter called that out.

It will go down as one of the most hilarious and bizarre nicknames to exist in the sport. Players often opt for nicknames for a number of reasons.

It helps them to establish a unique identity and resonates with the fans. It also helps in marketing and creating a brand for themselves in order to further their career.

Jeremy lost the fight against his opponent by the means of a technical knockout, but definitely left a mark with his nickname.

Fury FC is a form of MMA promotion established in 2013 by Eric Garcia, in the bid to give fighters a platform to showcase their skills and talents. He wished to change the landscape of the entire ecosystem in order to make easier for aspiring young fighters.

Users react to the bizarre nickname

They shared the video on Instagram and users could not believe what they were hearing. They flocked to the comment section with a bunch of reaction, some positive and some negative.

One user named walidtaha said the “Jon sexual chocolate jones is still the best” that he ever came across. One user said that “Michael Chiesa ain’t gonna that.”?

Robert said the wished presenter, Bruce Buffer, would introduce him at least once. Another user believed that nicknames likes these only rile up the opponent further and act as fuel for them. According to him, it puts them at a disadvantage. kingkennyslay said that some fighter from the UFC top 20 should do this just for the entertainment!

Nicknames do in fact go onto become the identity of a number of fighters. Jeremy, for one, has definitely left a mark in MMA history and also etched his name in the hearts and minds of many.
