Finland’s Valtteri Bottas set the fastest lap during the second day of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya. The Mercedes driver was one of two drivers to set a lap time below the 1:20 mark. His lap time was 1:19.310 and the only driver who was able to get close to him was former teammate Felipe Massa who set a time of 1:19.420.
The session was marred by an accident for Kimi Raikkonen in the Ferrari. Bottas set the lap on a set of supersoft tires while Massa was on the ultrasoft tire. His lap time is more than half a second faster than the lap time set by Mark Webber in 2010.
As you head down the main straight, you brake hard for the right-left sequence of Turns 1 and 2. Immediately following that is the long right hander of Turn 3 which leads into another right-handed corner.
Still on board with Bottas as he heads into the tight left-hander at Turn 5. Opening up the throttle and goes through the small kink before another right-hander. Exiting the right-hander, Bottas heads down the back straight before braking hard for the hairpin.
What follows next is a left-hander that leads into a right-handed corner. Then he heads into a right-left-right sequence of corners before exiting the final corner that leads to the main straight.
