Riot Games has been trying hard to make the competitive gameplay experience of Valorant as close to perfection as it can get. The company has been pushing the tactical FPS hard to build a competitive ecosystem at par with its iconic MMORPG title League of Legends. Honestly, Valorant features a certain level of balance in its agent abilities as well as its weapon rotation and has one of the most effective anti-cheat systems out there. Those who are aware of the state of anti-cheat systems in other titles know that this is no mean feat. Furthermore, devs at Riot Games have always tried to see to it that the player community gets what they want. This is one of the foremost arguments in favor of the title in the CS: GO vs. Valorant debate.

For a while now, players have been demanding 5-stacks in competitive Valorant gameplay. This has been a persistent demand from the player community, especially since 5-stacking is not available in the higher ranks. For those who do not know, 5-stacking basically means joining a matchmaking queue with all five of your selected teammates from the lobby. Currently, players can join the competitive matchmaking queue with only one selected teammate.

This often leads to some issues since playing with players you do not have a synergy with can have disastrous results. This becomes a more acute issue in ranked competitive lobbies since the stakes are much higher. However, a Riot Games dev has assured that the inclusion of 5-stacks in competitive is currently in the works.

This information was revealed by a Riot Games dev on Twitter in reply to a tweet by Shroud. The dev in question is Riot EvrMoar, former eSports pro and the Senior Competitive Designer of Valorant. The dev answered Shroud’s question regarding 5-stacks in Competitive. According to him, Riot is already working in order to bring this feature to the competitive component of the game. However, this is taking time.

This will further improve the competitive gameplay experience for the players and boost confidence. Furthermore, players will stand more chances while playing with their known teammates rather than pairing up with random players.
