Valorant is much more than just a basic FPS game because of its agents and their unique abilities. The agents in the game are classified on the basis of their team roles, such as Duelists, Controllers, and Sentinels. Essentially, players pick their agents based on personal preference and the team’s requirements.
Recently, Valorant’s twitter disclosed two of the most picked agents in the game from several server regions.
Interestingly, it is a 1v1 between a duelist and a healer:

Why is Jett one of the most picked agents in Valorant?
Jett is undoubtedly one of the best agents in the game, and it is no surprise that she is also a key preference of players around the globe. Specifically, players in Korea, USA, and Turkey pick her the most. The agent is South Korean too, and maybe that adds to the huge support from Korea. Jett has four abilities that always help her pull off a sneaky 1v1 or surprise her opponents with her agility.
First and foremost, there is Cloudburst which contains three projectiles that expand into a ‘brief vision cloud’ on impact with a surface. The duration for each cloud is seven seconds, and that too, for a small price of 100 units.
Updraft and Tailwind are Jett’s two abilities that help her in quick movement across smokes and corners. With Updraft, Jett can propel high into the air and players usually use it to reach unusual corners above the ground. Opponents place their crosshair on the ground level and rarely expect an agent above the ground.
Tailwind, on the other hand, instantly propels Jett in the direction she is moving. This is best suited for pushing through smokes and surprising the enemies. Also, players use to it instantly escape the firing range of an opponent and get cover.
Jett’s ultimate ability Blade Storm requires six points to activate and the agent equips a set of five daggers through it. These daggers are very accurate and can be thrown either in a single fire, or an alternate fire. Also, they restock after killing an enemy.
Is Sage still good enough after the major nerf?
If this list was before Valorant patch 1.07, Sage was certainly not a surprise. However, the agent received one of the biggest nerfs in Valorant’s recent patch. Even after this nerf, players primarily in Russia, Mexico, and Brazil, still seem to trust the healer.
Being the healer agent, Sage’s first ability is the Healing Orb that helps her to heal her teammates. With alternate fire, she can also heal herself with this ability.
Slow Orb and Barrier Orb are Sage’s two abilities that help her in stopping any effective push from the opponents. With the Slow Orb, she can slow down the movement speed of any agent trapped in the orb’s zone, which expands as soon as it touches the surface.
She can be even more defensive with the Barrier Orb that literally creates a wall in front of Sage. She can also change the direction of this wall and it effectively stops any forthcoming push. Also, opponents need to waste their bullets to break the wall, or they have to wait for it to decay in thirty seconds.
But most importantly, Sage stands out among other agents because of her ultimate ability, Resurrection. With this ability, Sage can bring one of her dead teammates back to life with full health and arms. This ability is really handy in situations where Sage is the last agent trapped in a 1v2 or 1v3 situations. However, all these abilities are now significantly nerfed.

Future plans for Jett and Sage in Valorant
Sage was one of the best agents in the game until a few months back. It is really interesting to see a lot of players still picking her after the nerf. Most probably, these players are low-tier ones who do not face the toughest competition. At higher tiers, it is rare to see anyone using the agent.
However, Jett might be the next big nerf in Valorant. Players, ranking from Iron to Immortal, pick her irrespectively. She is the best duellist in the game and now the devs are starting to make some nerfs in her abilities with Valorant patch 1.09.

Both of these agents are still fan favorites and it seems like even the biggest nerf will not harm their loyalty for these agents.
