Jason “JasonR” Ruchelski is a former CS: GO player who shifted to Valorant. Around a month ago, on June 26th, Faze announced JasonR as one of their first recruits for their Valorant roster. Jason Ruchelski was also selected as the team’s captain. He was supposedly meant to establish a Valorant roster for FaZe, along with Corey “corey” Nigra.

Today, six weeks later, @FaZeUpdate posted a tweet to announce Jason Ruchelski’s departure from FaZe clan;
FaZe Clan and @JasonRuchelski have decided to part ways – he’s looking to build a Valorant roster & seek opportunities elsewhere.
We had a great working experience with Jason, and hope our paths cross again in the future! #FaZeUp

Besides the fact that the signing was an extremely short one, people had been anticipating this move for quite some time. And with good reason. Since joining Faze, Jason had not featured on the roster even once. Then came the VALORANT Ignition Series NA. FaZe was participating in the tournament for the first time. Surprisingly, they had left out their team captain JasonR. The team constituted of Zachary ‘ZachaREEE’ Lombardo, Rory ‘dephh’ Jackson, Johnny ‘Marved’ Nguyen, and Harrison ‘psalm’ Chang alongside Corey.
It was apparent that the roster was having some problems of their own with Jason Ruchelski. In a Twitch stream some time ago, JasonR raised concerns about the Valorant team. He also said he wasn’t practicing with the team at that time. He reportedly said he had no say in the team. Being the team captain, no authority on team management is always going to pose a problem.
A similar incident happened not too long ago. Hiko, of 100 Thieves, complained about how he, as the captain, did not have a hands-on say about their Valorant roster. That led many to think maybe FaZe was pulling a similar stunt with JasonR.

In his Twitch stream here is how JasonR explained it,
“Marved just got announced on the FaZe Clan roster, but I’m not playing for FaZe. I’m not practicing with that roster.” Furthermore, he adds, “I had no say in who they were picking up at all. I had no choice in the roster, and I’m not going to be forced to play with anyone I don’t want to.”
Altogether, it was clear that the roster wasn’t working out with JasonR. Today, FaZe declared it as a mutual parting between the two sides. We are yet to hear from JasonR. In short, everything seems very clear but not so ‘mutual’.
