Valorant is currently one of the most popular tactical FPS titles out there. While the different elements in the game like agents, abilities, and arsenal are usually well-balanced, it can be challenging at times to maintain that balance. Sometimes, it might take long for players to get the hang of the agents and their abilities, and how to effectively use them in combat. Overall, things can get tricky.

This is where “Valorant How-To” comes in. Previously, we have covered some simple guides to ninja defuses. Now, let us talk about what players usually get wrong in the game, leading to their untimely demise in every round.
Valorant How-To: Improvise, Adapt, Overcome
One thing that players usually get wrong is adapting to the opponent’s strategy and devising their own according to it. Now, this may sound pretty straightforward and basic, but is, in fact, quite tough. If you are playing on the defending side, the basic strategy is to react to the attacking team’s strategy.
Assessing the situation and rushing to the bombsite where the attackers are planting the spike in a timely fashion is one simple but invaluable tip.
If, as an attacker, you realize that the opposition squad is all the bombsite you’re at, the obvious solution is to rush to a different site. Another common strategy is to bait the opponent by engaging them at one site while your teammate plants the spike elsewhere.

A reaction to this strategy, for the defending side, would be to immediately assess the situation and leave for the said site. We have already talked about ninja defuse before. Although this is a more advanced tactic, it can’t hurt to try it.
Save up for the Op, but be aware of the team’s needs as well
A lot of players end up saving up money through the first two rounds to grab the Operator sniper rifle. This is a great strategy if you are confident enough to face the opponent with a lower-end weapon. If not, it is not worth it at all (been there, trust me). It is always smart to not fixate on one single weapon and instead suit up with all the peripherals you can buy (abilities, shield, etc.).

Of course, this will depend on the situation itself and on the player’s strengths. Moreover, let go of your goal to buy a particular weapon if your teammate needs to buy a weapon and she/he cannot afford one. Because, in the end, strategies might fall apart if you can’t prevent your teammate from becoming dead weight.
