The gaming industry has been huge and lucrative for decades now. And with every step of technological advancement, the industry has only grown bigger. The previous decade saw another element cropping up within gaming, which was streaming and content creation. Today, one of the oldest and most popular streamers, Jaryd “summit1g” Lazar, reached a landmark number of followers, and Valorant may have a little something to do with it.
summit1g takes to streaming
Live streaming while gaming truly took hold in the 2010s. It was a by-product of the competitive gaming scene which had taken off the decade before. Competitive gaming takes its toll just like any other competitive sport, more mentally than physically in this case.

Hence, many professionals shifted from the competitive scene to the streaming one. Many of them already had fan followings given their exploits in eSports, making the transition fluid.
Summit1g took to streaming in 2011 with games like Call of Duty, Halo, and CS: GO. He was doing quite well in a time when streaming wasn’t widely accepted as it is today. A few years later, he took to PUBG, which enhanced his following, even more, becoming the most-followed streamer on Twitch in 2018 for about three months.
The things about summit1g that attracts fans to him are his professionalism and enthusiasm as a gamer. Sure he gets frustrated every now and then when things just won’t go his way, but he is also ever eager to improve himself in any game. Moreover, he likes to keep his viewers informed.
