As Act 2 of Valorant nears its end, Riot Games has given the community a heads up for the upcoming act. Act 3 of the game will kick off from the 27th of this month. In a blog post yesterday, Riot announced that the upcoming Act will greet players with a new map (on the 13th of Oct.) and a new agent (on the 27th). Like always, data miners have already revealed information about the upcoming agent and its abilities.

Devs at Riot had previously thought of releasing the new agent on the 13th as well. However, seeing the sheer amount of content the new act will contain, they decided against it. In the blog post yesterday, they made it clear that the only reason why they have delayed the launch of a new agent is to not affect the stability of the patch.

Valorant Act 3: What do we know of the upcoming Agent “Skye”?
From the way we see it, this new agent, named Skye, can serve a multitude of functions during battle. She has a hybrid explosive-recon ability, as well as a healing function. However, we still do not the exact details about the latter.

Skye’s Guiding Light ability is basically a variation of Phoenix’s curveball ability, but perhaps with a greater range. When a player uses this ability, it equips a hawk trinket. You have to press fire to deploy it and hold the fire button to guide it in the direction of your crosshair. So, in a way, it is perhaps even more precise than Phoenix’s curveball.
As for the recon/explosive ability, it is called Trailblazer. Using this ability deploys a Tasmanian Tiger trinket that functions as a recon. This tiger seeks out enemies physically, and upon pressing the fire button, you can make it jump up and explode on the enemy. A pretty handy ability, if you ask us.
Next up is the Regrowth ability, which helps her heal allies in a given radius if they are in her line of sight. However, note that Skye cannot heal herself using this ability (yes, there’s always a catch).

And, last but not the least, her Ultimate: Seekers. This ability does seem to be an enhanced version of the wolf ability from the Spike rush mode. They certainly are similar. The Seekers ability deploys trinkets that seek out 3 nearby enemies and makes them nearsighted. We do not know if it will be visible to players on the minimap, like the wolf ability is, but we can assume that it might probably be quieter and swifter.
Overall, it looks like devs have designed Skye to be the ultimate support agent. If one does not care about their own HP, Skye might be an upgrade on Sage.
