Among the stars of the United States Women’s National Team, Megan Rapinoe is arguably one of the most recognisable. In a career spanning well over a decade, the 36-year-old established herself as one of the best forwards in women’s soccer.

Rapinoe scored 61 goals in 183 appearances for the USWNT
The 36-year-old made a reputation for producing assists as a winger. However, she didn’t shy away from adding her name in the goals column, netting 61 for her country.

She also captains National Women Soccer League team OL Reign, for whom she scored 34 goals in 75 appearances. While Rapinoe won many individual honours, she won an Olympic gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics. She also won two FIFA Women’s World Cups, in 2015 and 2019.
Individually, the 36-year-old enjoyed one of her best seasons in 2019. During the USWNT’s World Cup victory that year, Rapinoe stood out as one of the brightest stars of the team. Her exploits in the tournament won her the Golden Boot as she scored six goals in the tournament.

In fact, she found herself tied with her teammate Morgan in that regard, as well as in assists, of which both notched three. However, Rapinoe took the Golden Boot since she achieved those statistics in 428 minutes, while Morgan did so in 490 minutes. She also won the Golden Ball in that tournament, beating Lucy Bronze and Rose Lavelle to the title.
