The NFL brings forth a season of adrenaline rush, a new set of players, and a goal to win the Super Bowl. With the fresh season starting on September 7, there is some saddening news for a few of the players.
One of the primary factors associated with the NFL is that it’s highly competitive, with the best players competing against each other. In such a scenario, the teams aim to put their best squad forward to come out victorious. What this implies is that certain players have to be left behind to make way for other better athletes.
This is a double-edged sword as the teams need to have the best combination of players and have to make tough decisions on certain top-rated individuals. Pat McAfee recently voiced the sentiments of those players who missed the team rosters ahead of Wednesday’s deadline. The former NFL player gave an example of a WWE legend who also missed out on the NFL drafts.

Pat McAfee shares a Dwayne Johnson story for NFL players missing the cut
Pat McAfee on his show “The Pat McAfee Show” resonated with the players who were unable to make it to the NFL teams. McAfee said, “They’ve been taking it all over the Internet, of how a 1000 and a half people will lose their jobs.” In a further explanation regarding the gravity of the situation, McAfee shared a Dwayne Johnson story.
He said how Johnson was the number 54 on the final NFL draft, with other 53 men on the roster. It’s the reason why Hollywood’s Sexiest Man Alive wears the 54-number jersey too. Dwayne was shown the door by the selectors.
“Sorry Dwayne but we just don’t have a spot for you. That is a story he tells……Motivated him so much that even after becoming a billionaire he wanted to start a professional f****ng league,” Pat McAfee said.
