Sometimes, athletes can transcend their respective courts to bring jubilation to fans from all walks of life through the most simple things. Being able to give back to the community is something everyone strives for and it was once again highlighted at the recent Denver Nuggets’ annual contract signing event. Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic welcomed 100 Special Olympics athletes yesterday to help basketball reach more people and spread some joy in the process.

In a social media post, the Nuggets’ special day was highlighted for basketball fans to soak up. Along with the special athletes, national sensations like Michael Bush also were spotted at the Ball Arena.

The reigning NBA champs brought smiles to the Colorado natives with the help of Kroenke Sport & Entertainment. Along with meeting the Nuggets stars, the athletes also spent a day at the court honing their basketball skills. From the looks of the Instagram post, the participants had one blast of a day as Nuggets manager Calvin Booth handed them their one-day contracts. In one image, Booth can be seen high-fiving one of the participants while other Nuggets stars mingled with more one-day rookies.

All of the 100 participants also received their rookie trading cards, and we’re sure this will be something to cherish! While Jokic looked comfortable holding one participant in his arms, Murray had some expert tips to share with the young group on their training day.

The rookies also took part in a stringent training workout session, but not before meeting all the Nuggets stars in person! The Special Olympics Athletes also underwent some dribbling and shooting practices to make sure their one-day signings didn’t go by without any action. According to Bush, the event helped him and the others to have the courage to continue pursuing their dreams together as a team.

The Insta post also shows the participants and the Nuggets stars sharing the stage and posing for a group photo. The wide smiles on their faces underscore the thrill they’ve experienced and what the day meant to them.
