In the episode of Joe Rogan Experience, Kelly Slater, and Rogan were talking about crocodiles. Slater and Rogan were talking about an incident that they saw online regarding crocodiles involved in a kayaking accident. It was gruesome to know what happened.
The incident that would shock anybody
Kelly Slater talks about a lot of facts regarding crocodiles. He also talks about how stupid people are and how they just don’t understand the situation with these fatal animals.
“A croc’s not gonna just sort of give you an exploratory bite like a great white might and leave you,” Slater said. Crocodiles won’t just bite you and leave you, as per the pro surfer. They also have the strongest known bite force in the entire animal kingdom, at 3700 PSI.
“This one was like these two guys were gonna do a first descent down this thing and they were contacting another guy who had done that river an American guy,” Slater said and continued, “The American guy was like I can’t miss this descent I got to do this I got to do that whole river.”
Little did they know the river was full of crocodiles. They reached a point where the river was slow and wide, where they encountered the crocodiles.
“As soon as they got there all the river all the crocs came off the riverbank and they were like oh sh** there’s like tons of them,” Slater said and continued, “15-18 foot croc comes up grabs the guy takes him out of his pulls him out of his kayak disappears they never see him again.”
People who are unaware of the rivers where crocodiles live are vulnerable to incidents like this.
The croc experience of Kelly Slater
Being the most renowned surfer in the world, Kelly Slater was a good friend of Steve Irwin. Slater had the opportunity to learn how to feed a crocodile from Irwin before his death in 2006.
Slaters recalls his moment as the scariest thing he had done in his entire life. Of course, anyone would be afraid of hand-feeding a 13-foot crocodile.
