Months have passed since the 2023 PBR World Championship concluded, but there is still a huge competition to come: the PBR Team Series. When world champions and rookie cowboys struggle to tame different bulls in the arena, the rodeo world is ready for all the fun the Team Series will provide them. However, in 2022, the arena was filled with dread for the 2021 PBR World Champion Bull, Woopaa, who was a horror for every cowboy in the arena. Woopa was a formidable opponent in the 2022 PBR Team Series, but 31-year-old Chase Outlaw, a veteran of the PBR circuit, made short work of him.

Before the 2023 Team Series, the official PBR social media account posted throwback videos to entice fans. Fans flocked to the comments section of the post after seeing the footage of Chase Outlaw riding Woopaa in the 2022 Team Series.

Whether it’s the PBR or the PRCA, the cowboys who excel under pressure know that they only have 8 seconds to prove themselves. Star cowboy Chase Outlaw has seen a lot since his first season in the PBR in 2011. After several bouts, the cowboy from Arkansas met Woopaa, the 2021 World Champion Bull, in the inaugural PBR Team Series edition. The Oklahoma Freedom cowboy understood the stakes, since riding an honored bull is never a walk in the park.

The Instagram video clearly shows that the metal chutes were down and that it was, in fact, Chase Outlaw atop Woopaa. In his ten years of professional bull riding, Outlaw has never ridden Woopaa. Outlaw was able to keep control of the World Champion Bull until the last 8 seconds, when the timer went off. The 31-year-old cowboy rodeoed his way to victory, scoring 94.50, and immediately began his customary victory celebration, which was cheered enthusiastically by everyone in the arena.

Even though the video is from the PBR Team Series in 2022, it has proven to be a fan favorite due to the star cowboy’s apparent dominance over a world champion bull.

Rodeo fans united in praise of the cowboy

The Instagram video quickly gained over 100,000 views and 10,000 likes after being posted online. The comment section of the post was filled with rodeo fans gushing over the famous cowboy and his bull ride.

One fan wrote how this feat would remain iconic, saying, “This ride will never get old.” Woopaa is surely a strong bull, but it can be owned by fewer cowboys, and the fans know one of them, as this comment read, “That bull was made for Chase Outlaw!”
