Jose Vitor Leme, a two-time PBR world champion, is no stranger to the rodeo ring. The first game of the 2023 Team Series for the Austin Gamblers was against the Kansas City Outlaws, and he finally had a chance to prove himself. A huge 90 on his first ride at the most anticipated rodeo event in the United States ensured that the Brazilian cowboy would shine as far as he could.
The Austin Gamblers and the Kansas City Outlaws faced off in the 2023 PBR Team Series on Monday night in the United States. The Gamblers had all eyes locked in since one of their players was a two-time World Champion. Interestingly, the footage of Jose Vitor Leme’s 90-point ride quickly went viral, proving that he had indeed performed like a world champion.
Just like a rodeo champion

Since his first year competing in American rodeos, 26-year-old Brazilian cowboy Jose Vitor Leme has been a fan favorite. In 2020 and 2021, the cowboy won back-to-back world championships, cementing his place in cowboy history. The Brazilian superstar, who was anticipating the 2023 PBR Team Series, has had a stellar season overall. The Instagram video that went viral shows how committed Leme was to giving the crowd all he had. Leme’s PBR Team Series season got underway with a bull named Red River. The buck-off rate of the bull is 46%, so riding it isn’t a walk in the park. The PBR world champion, though, enjoys difficult tasks.

When the bull saw that the metal chutes weren’t in place, it began bucking the cowboy. The world champion cowboy on its back, though, is nearly too much of a challenge for the animal to handle. The bull gave it his all to buck off Leme every second, but the latter was no pushover. Leme impressed the judges and the audience by remaining atop the bull until the 8-second buzzer. He scored a perfect 90 on this ride, the first perfect score of the 2023 PBR Team Series.

A stellar PBR career overall
One of the cowboys that the next generation looks up to is Jose Vitor Leme. Even though he’s just 26, he’s already won two world championships and cemented his reputation in American rodeo history. The cowboy had a great time in the 2023 PBR season and finished the year ranked #2 in the world, only missing out on the championship by a few points.

The Brazilian superstar has ridden 84 times that scored a perfect 90. Leme has a riding percentage of 63% after having ridden 370 bulls in his PBR career. At this point in his career, he has won $5,804,000 in the PBR and hopes to win even more money in the future.
