The rodeo arena of the PBR or other organizations treats all animals and people competing as players. PBR bulls are the only ones of their type, and they have their own world championships. Fans of rodeo have something to be excited about with the PBR Team Series’s dominance of American rodeo arenas. A PBR bucking bull known as Cool Whip performed one of his amazing feats during a match between the Oklahoma Freedom and the Nashville Stampede.

On August 4, 2023, Thiago Salgado, at 21 years old, rode Cool Whip for the Oklahoma Freedom against the Nashville Stampede. PBR’s own social media account was the first to share footage of the bull’s performance during the battle, and it quickly went viral.

There was a lot of pressure on the young Brazilian cowboy to wow the fans during the Team Series match. The Oklahoma Freedom were also eager for a win, so the cowboy would have had to show himself to his squad. Before entering the arena, the cowboy had Coop Whip wait behind the metal chute. The cowboy was going to ride a bull with a 98% buck-off rate, and the situation was stressful.

As soon as the metal chutes were removed, the bull made a tremendous leap. The cowboy was astonished but managed to resist nonetheless. However, after just two or three bucks, the Brazilian cowboy was flung off the bull well before the eight-second mark. The rodeo workers encircled the bull to coax him back into the metal chutes, and the cowboy got a taste of the dirt as the bull jumped around the rodeo area. Unfortunately for the cowboy, the bull scored 45.5 points on the ride, making it his 20th ride of 45 or more points in PBR history.

Rodeo showdown ending in a nail-biting finish

The Oklahoma Freedom and Nashville Stampede’s PBR Team Series contest was intense. Before the American cowboy, Derek Kolbaba, got aboard the Norse God, no one had ever kept score. The metal chutes were open, and the American cowboy atop the bull was the center of attention. Although the bull made an effort, the cowboy was not about to get bucked off. The cowboy stayed on the bull until the 8-second buzzer, but he fell off and hit his head right after, securing 87.75 points.

The Nashville Stampede’s Silvano Alves was similarly ready for some action. The duel between the Brazilian cowboy and the bull, Falcon Eddie, was set to finalize the winner of the match. Once the metal chutes were removed, the bull made repeated attempts to knock the cowboy off his back. The cowboy patiently demonstrated his skill by remaining atop the bull while time ticked away. As soon as the eight-second timer went off, the cowboy sprang off the bull and joined his teammates in jubilation. But the 85.25 points he received for this ride weren’t good enough to defeat the Oklahoma Freedom. Despite all the joy and upset, the fans went wild for the action that these two teams brought on the field.
