Richardson got the women’s 200-meter race off to a smooth start. The American runner surged into the midst of her competitors at the first bend, giving them no advantage. There was no one left to challenge Richardson in the last 40 meters of the 200-meter race, so she struck a victory stance before crossing the finish line. She took first place, winning the race impressively.
With a time of 22.07 seconds, Richardson breezed over the 200 meters. U.S. runners Kyra Jefferson and Shannon Ray placed second and third, respectively, with times of 22.77 and 22.82 seconds.
