Water sports are best experienced during the warm summer months. Many sports, such as surfing, swimming, and many others, fall under this category. Unfortunately, some people’s trips to the pool may turn into a gloomy contest, as was the case with a California guy in the Red Rock Pools in Santa Barbara County not too long ago. The 22-year-old Californian was with a group of companions by the pool when things took a turn for the worst.
The 22-year-old disappeared while swimming in a pool close to the Red Rock path and was subsequently discovered by police, but in a far worse state than anybody would have anticipated. SFGATE covered the terrifying event after it occurred.

On July 12, a group of friends went on a swimming trip. They went on an expedition to the Red Rock Trail’s well-known natural pool along the Santa Ynez River in Los Padres National Forest. Santa Barbara County Fire Department spokesman Scott Safechuck told SFGATE following the event that a 22-year-old guy in the group named Roberto De La Cruz had first gone missing. Officials eventually located the young guy in the pool, pulled him out, and reached for medical assistance.
The man was immediately attended to by medical personnel who arrived on the spot. The 22-year-old Californian was given CPR and advanced life support, but despite their best efforts, he was declared dead at the scene. What occurred in the pool is still being looked into, as Santa Barbara County Fire Department spokesperson Scott Safechuck stated. He also warned that the stunning natural pool is really rather risky for anyone who doesn’t know how to swim.
The picturesque natural feature is visited by sightseers from all around the world. However, following this gruesome tragedy, further troubling information about the natural scene has been discovered by the personnel associated with it.
Authorities raising their concerns
The death of this 22-year-old guy adds to the growing number of drownings in the United States this year. Popular with tourists, the pool may be found in Los Padres National Forest, not far from the Santa Ynez River and the Red Rock Path. This makes it a popular place for sightseers and residents alike, and even though it was damaged in a winter storm, visitors can still reach it on foot.

In close proximity to the tourist attraction is a large rock. Even though it is forbidden, many tourists nonetheless attempt to scale the cliff and dive into the deep water below. Authorities say this may result in fatal impact injuries, and following this occurrence, those worries have just grown.
