Surfing fans are familiar with Jamie O’Brien and the tasks he sets. O’Brien’s audience is loyal because of his willingness to take on seemingly insurmountable projects. The prominent surf vlogger has kept his massive online following by posting new surf challenges in each of his vlogs. This time, though, he traveled to Mexico, where he saw waves that were not at all what he had anticipated.

O’Brien has finally delivered the Mexico vlog that his 892K fans have been waiting for. Because of how long people had been waiting for this video, it naturally went viral very quickly. The vlog, however, was not without its own challenges.

The video opens with Jamie O’Brien doing, well, typical Jamie O’Brien stuff as he speeds down the ocean. The excellent entrance is completed by the presence of a rainbow in the background. A friend of his also rides behind him on a jet ski. O’Brien surfs the waves of Mexico, like he does every time, with a GoPro attached to his mouth. A short while later, the surf vlogger also tried to sprint behind his pal on a jet ski, but a swell separated O’Brien from his surfboard and threw him into the air.

When asked to explain the wave that swept over him, O’Brien said, “That was a gnarly one.” And the wave was a “10 footer” that landed squarely on the vlogger’s ‘noggin’. Even though he was worried about his personal safety, the YouTuber yelled, “Oh my god, lost the board,” as the surfboard was swept away by the wave. O’Brien, though, quickly grabbed another surfboard and hopped on the jet ski in search of another wave. The surf vlogger also offered his friend a shot at the waves, and his companion rode them just as expertly as he had. They were both knocked off their boards a few times, but each time they were able to get back up and try again.

With all the wipeouts, the surfer and his crew had a rough time surfing at Mexico’s biggest beach break. However, O’Brien never fails to thrill his legions of admirers and keep them coming back to his vlogs by getting back on his surfboard and doing his antics again. The YouTuber is not only an expert surfer but also an outstanding content creator.
