“It’s Like a Thousand Guys Out Here”: Millionaire Surfer Faces Common People’s Problems While Surfing at Popular Destination

Jamie O’Brien’s massive online following looks forward to his daily uploads of pumped-up surfing vlogs even when he’s not out competing. The 39-year-old surf free-surfer is well acclaimed for his dominance in a variety of categories. The Hawaiian surfer also doesn’t have any preference for wave size, riding both small and big waves for the sake of his audience’s entertainment.

The internet celebrity was recently observed surfing on a busy pipeline in a video posted on Facebook. Since the summer sun is hot enough to cook an egg, it’s understandable that many people desire to cool themselves on the oceanic turf. Nonetheless, Jamie O’Brien didn’t move from where he was, instead focusing only on that audience.

A unique pipeline surfing experience

The Banzai Pipeline is no laughing matter for surfers. For big wave surfers, nothing beats the experience of riding one of these massive waves, which may break in very shallow water right over a steep and deep reef. O’Brien ran into an unexpected problem when trying to record a POV video of himself riding the pipeline. The surfer saw a large number of people merely trying to surf on the Pipeline as he ventured a little distance from the beach to the region where the waves screamed danger.

O’Brien met his friend Lucas amongst the crowd and said, “It’s like a thousand guys out here.” The surfer ran into some old friends at the Pipeline and then proceeded to surf in front of a large audience while doing some impressive maneuvers. After waiting at the proper time, he seized a wave and effortlessly powered through it. The surfer was presumably unable to plan an effective escape route as the wave was breaking and was wiped out. After managing to make his way back to the crowd, where the massive waves were, he grabbed another wave and rode it out, this time astonishing onlookers by remaining atop his surfboard the whole time.

O’Brien has never failed to satisfy his massive viewership with quality content. This video was another example of how the surfer was able to keep his viewers hooked by performing amazing stunts on the huge wave, despite the presence of a large crowd.
