The intensity of an ice hockey game, is enough to quickly melt even the most hardened of audiences.  A goaltender who had previously played in the National Hockey League (NHL) recently made a mistake in a game in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), which didn’t go well for him. Kasimir Kaskisuo, a goaltender, previously played for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Nashville Predators. Now with Leksands of the Swedish Hockey League, he recently lost his composure and made a costly mistake on Thursday.

SVT Sport tweeted a video of Kasimir Kaskisuo’s embarrassing slip-up. The hockey community caught wind of this post quickly, as it rapidly went viral. Visual footage shows that the goalkeeper lost his temper and threw a water bottle at the referee.

This Finnish goaltender is currently in action with Leksands IF in the SHL. The team is presently 8th in the league, and they played HV71 not too long ago. SVT Sport posted a video of Kasimir Kaskisou looking at the booing fans, after the referee had just skated away from the Leksands’ net. The goaltender didn’t seem to be thrilled, as he grabbed the water bottle from above the net, and flung it toward the back of the referee, who skated away from him.

This event occurred when the Leksands blew a two-goal lead over the HV71 in their own stadium, Tegera Arena. Just behind the home team’s goal, irate fans began to boo. The goaltender, Kasimir Kaskisou, was fuming after allowing three goals. When the final score was 2-3 for the HV71, the Finnish player hurled a water bottle at the referee, earning him a match penalty, a ban for five games, and a fine of SEK 23,750 (about $2,271).

Kaskisou only had two NHL games with the Toronto Maple Leafs before being sent off to the Swedish Hockey League for the 2021-22 season.
