The NHL has a huge history when it comes to events transpiring little boxing matches on the ice rink. Many regulations have been added to the game to prevent these kinds of brawls from breaking out. However, the regulations do not please the fans, since they would like to see a more physical game between the players. Jacob Trouba, a defender for the Rangers, had a great boxing display in the last game against the Flames.
After a back-and-forth contest, the New York Rangers prevailed in overtime, thanks to a goal by Alexis Lafrenière. There were a few hits and clashes involving Jacob Trouba, a few skirmishes in front of the net, and a power-play goal for the Rangers due to silly penalties by the Flames. The contest included not one but three separate battles. Trouba’s first opponent was Chris Tanev of the Flames. Sammy Blais of the Rangers punched Milan Lucic, sparking the second altercation. For similar reasons, the two teams ended up fighting. Again, it was Trouba who started the third bout, this time with Dillon Dube. The intensity of the physical play in this match brought back memories for many spectators.
